All computer equipment with an IT ID support tag number starting with "08" should be requested for replacement by the department. This level should not include any Category 1 computers.

Departmental printers have a five-year replacement cycle. This includes all printers with support tag starting with "08" or lower.
Non-supported - All non-supported computers and printers should be requested for replacement by the department.
Note: All equipment donated or obtained through grants must also comply with the hardware support and replacement guidelines. All computers must be listed in the LANDesk inventory database for your department.
Hardware Services Guidelines:
All Baylor standards that are recommended by the Baylor Technology Procurement Office will be provided full support from the ITS repair shop. Spare parts and employee certifications for these products are maintained by ITS. The list of standard equipment is reviewed and updated as needed throughout the fiscal year.
If your department would like to request a non-standard hardware item, a Departmental Request for Purchase of Non-Standard Technology form must be submitted to ITS. The department may need to purchase 3 years of warranty service from the vendor for the non-standard product selected. If warranty service is purchased, your department will also be required to contact the vendor directly to schedule any maintenance or repair services.
