I thru K Student Email Outage
Thursday, May 3, 3:30 pm: All I/J/K student accounts have been moved to Exchange 2010 and are now stable. See the website for the Exchange 2010 migration project at www.baylor.edu/its/exchange2010 for more information.
Wednesday, May 2, 12:00 pm: We are experiencing sporadic email outages affecting these students with BearIDs beginning with the letters I, J, or K. This situation is the top priority for ITS staff and management. We have vendor experts engaged and will continue to give this our full efforts until it is resolved.
We will continue to post updates here as we have them.
Tuesday, May 1, 12:00 pm: Work continues on updating I/J/K students' mailboxes with activity that occurred between Friday night and the Monday afternoon outage.
Tuesday, May 1, 1:00 am: Access to all affected student email accounts has been restored. All I thru K accounts should contain their email as it existed Friday night as well an all mail sent to them since the system went down Monday afternoon.
I thru K student mailboxes are gradually being brought up-to-date with email messages received and sent between the Friday night restore point and the Monday outage. We do not yet have an estimation as to when this will be completed.
Any student with questions about their account should stop by the TechPoint Desk in Moody Library Garden Level Study Commons 24 hours per day in person or call them at 254-710-7369.
Monday, April 30, 11:45 pm: Access to affected student email accounts is gradually being restored. Some accounts are now available and more will come online throughout the night.
Accounts are being restored to a Friday night backup. When they come online, email that has been waiting to be delivered since the system went down this afternoon will begin to flow into the mailboxes.
ITS staff are also working to bring these mailboxes up-to-date with mail that was received between Friday night and this afternoon when the outage occurred. At this time we do not have an estimate as to when this process will be completed. We will continue to update the ITS Down Line (254-710-3696/DOWN) and this web page as more information is available.

Monday, April 30, 10:00 pm: ITS staff continue to work diligently on restoring email access for students whose BearID start with the letters I, J, or K. The outage occurred about 3:00 this afternoon when a server unexpectedly failed.
We understand that this is a difficult time for this kind of outage. Thus far, these actions have been taken:

If students have other email questions or technical problems, they can call the ITS Help Desk at 254-710-4357/HELP and leave a message about the issue and we will contact them.
Monday, April 30, 7:15 pm: Email for students whose BearIDs start with I, J, or K is down. (Ex. Jenny_Baylor)
As of 6:00 pm, a restore from backup is in progress. After the restore, mail for these users will be brought back online and mail messages sent since the server went down this afternoon will begin to be delivered.
