Mac Printer Security
Due to security issues related to the printer configurations used on campus, ITS is implementing a new printer configuration standard. As this standard is implemented across the campus, Macintosh clients may not be able to print with their current configuration. This change is being made in a gradual process across the Baylor campus, so that it will not affect everyone at the same time. The first phase of this change will begin on Monday, October 6, with the network in the Castellaw Communications Center building.
In order to ensure that printing from Macintosh computers is not interrupted, all Macintosh clients must change their current printing configuration so that it will be compatible with the new printing standard. If the printing configuration is not updated, documents submitted to print will never reach the printer. No error message will display on the computer - the document will simply never print. Printer setups may be updated now; there is no need to wait for the standard to be applied. Windows clients should not be affected by this change, but any printing issues with a Windows computer should be reported to the Help Desk.
