

Hardware Replacement Schedule
For Budget Planning 2010-11
Primary or Category 1 Computers
Level A: Replace in 2013-2014
All computer equipment with an IT ID support tag number starting with "10" This includes the standard computers being purchased in FY 2010*:

Dell E6400 Notebook
HP Minitower dc7900 Desktop
HP Notebook 6930p
HP Tablet 2730p
iMac Desktop, Mac Mini
MacBook, MacBook Pro
*These standard models may be updated as new technologies become available.
Level B: Replace in 2012-2013
All computer equipment with an IT ID support tag number starting with "09".
Level C: Replace in 2011-2012
All computer equipment with an IT ID support tag number starting with "08".
Level D: Replace in 2010-2011
All computer equipment with an IT ID support tag number starting with "07".
Category 2 – 6 Computers
All Level E's computers should be budgeted for replacement by the department. This level should not include any Category 1 computers.
Printers have a five-year replacement cycle. This includes all printers with support tag starting with 06 or lower.
Non-supported - All non-supported computers and printers should be budgeted for replacement by the department.

Level C: Replace in 2010-2011
All computer equipment with an IT ID support tag number starting with "07".
Printers: HP 4250/4700.
Level D: Replace in 2009-2010
All computer equipment with an IT ID support tag number starting with "06".
Printers: HP 4250/4650.

All Level E primary computers will be replaced by the PC Jubilee project. All other Level E's computers should be budgeted for replacement by the department. (Includes HP printers: 4200/4600)
Non-supported - Should not include any primary computers. All non-supported computers should be budgeted for replacement by the department. (Includes HP printers: 4000/4050/4500/4550/5000.)
Don't know your processor or MHz?
1. For PCs running Windows XP, right-click on My Computer (on the desktop) and select Properties from the pop-up menu. On the General tab, you will see processor type and speed along with other information about your computer.
2. For PCs running Windows 2000, go to the Software Installer page (http://www.baylor.edu/appcenter) and log in with your BearID. In the list of applications, choose "Processor Speed." Click "install" on the next screen and then click "open" in the File Download dialog box. You will need to accept the software license, and then you will see a window showing the processor type and processor speed of your computer.
3. For Macs running OS9, choose Apple System Profiler under the Apple Menu at the far upper left of the screen. The processor and speed information are in the hardware overview section of the System Profile tab.
4. For Macs running OSX, choose About this Mac under the Apple Menu at the far upper left of the screen. The processor information is noted in the window that appears.
