A GASP, then fear, and even possibly a tear...

Whether it was an email, a Facebook post, a tweet or a text. There was a link...and you clicked it. Maybe the link led to a malware site that affected your computer, or it led to a site that looked like your email log-in screen, your bank's website or another portal log-in. Regardless, after you entered your username and password, or filled out that online form, a strange feeling washed over you: "Did I just do something wrong?"

Rest assured, you are not alone and there is HELP! Spend the month of October - National CyberSecurity Awareness Month - learning a whole host of ways you can become more "BearAware" about protecting your personal information online. Follow the tips above and others provided by Techy Loo-Hoo, and visit the helpful links below to keep your information, and yourself, safe and secure online.

BearAware is Baylor University's cybersecurity awareness initiative. Throughout the year, Information Technology Services keeps the Baylor community up to date on the latest information security threats through quarterly campus newsletters, our @BearAware twitter account and the BearAware Facebook page. When information security issues arise, BearAware alerts are distributed campus-wide by email and through social media. The goal of our initiative is to keep the Baylor community informed about the latest cybersecurity threats so that both personal and university information resources remain secure.
