Temporary BearID AccessUniversity departments who are hosting short-term guests are now able to arrange for those guests to have a temporary BearID. All accounts issued provide basic access to public computers on campus; additional access levels are available on a limited basis due to licensing and other restrictions.
Some examples of guests eligible for temporary network access are:
RequirementsTemporary BearIDs are issued to guests only with proper identification (state or government-issued photo ID) and a signed copy of the Technology Systems Usage Policy (BU-PP025).
Guests also require sponsorship from a campus department. The sponsor should be the same person serving as the primary contact for the guest while he or she is on campus. The sponsor's signature is required on the Technology Systems Usage Policy.
Getting a temporary BearIDDepartments wishing to arrange a temporary BearID for guests should ensure that the following steps are completed at least two weeks before the account is needed:
Upon arrival, the guest should visit the Robinson Tower Suite 580, to sign the Technology Systems Usage Policy, present proper identification, and receive account information.
