Baylor is currently experiencing a problem with certain emails reaching mail-enabled public folders. The issue affects only emails from outside the Baylor domain (from non-baylor.edu email accounts). Public folders often appear to be departmental accounts, i.e., [email protected]
Beginning Friday, April 22, through mid-day Wednesday, April 27, some of the Baylor community experienced difficulty sending email messages to recipients with non-Baylor email addresses. The email sender received a bounced message that the target domain had rejected the e-mail. Although some users could re-send the message successfully, this wasn’t consistent for everyone.
On April 21, 2016, many faculty, staff and students received an email that appears to be from the ITS Help Desk asking all staff/employees to re-validate their credentials due to a security breach on BearAware. THIS IS A PHISHING SCAM. Do not click the link. Delete the email immediately and let others know to do likewise.
