Academics
At Baylor in Italy 2009, students may earn 3 to 6 hours of course credit. This program offers classes on the Topography of Rome and Pompeii (CLA 3321), the Archaeology of Sicily (CLA 4331), and Latin Epigraphy (LAT 3311). These courses introduce students to the art, archaeology, and history of the Greco-Roman world in Ancient Italy. Students fly to Rome for several days of on-site study. Afterwards the trip moves south, through Pompeii, Naples, and Paestum, and then into Sicily for an extensive tour of the island. All accommodations in Italy are superb! The Hotel Sant' Anna in Rome, just a short walk from St. Peter's Basilica, is a beautifully renovated building. Our accommodations around the Bay of Naples and on Sicily offer superb views of the sea and monuments.
