Office of Investments
The Office of Investments is responsible for managing Baylor's endowment and oversees its growth to enable the realization of the Baylor 2012 imperatives. Jonathan Hook was hired in February 2001 to begin the process of assessing the situation and planning the transition to Baylor's own set of institutional money managers. Over the next several years, the office gradually took on the responsibility of managing the investment assets. Jonathan Hook left the University in July 2008. Kent Muckel, our second CIO, left Baylor in December 2009 and Brian Webb was appointed to the position in June 2010.
Today, the office manages virtually all of Baylor's endowment as well as real estate and other assets with a staff of five people. This staff includes Brian Webb, CIO; Carolyn Sorrels, Assistant to CIO; David Morehead, Director of Investments; Jeff Wallace, Director of Operations; Michel Klus, Investment Analyst; and Renee Hanna, Investment Analyst.
