"Sacred Texts, Holy Images" places religious art by the Jewish Chagall and the Catholic Rouault together, a joint showing of the master artists' well-known print series, Chagall's "Bible" and Rouault's "Miserere" -- a considerable coup for Baylor University. "To our knowledge, these two exhibits have never been shown together," said Baylor Honors College Dean Thomas Hibbs, a "Sacred Texts" organizer.
Denis Alexander, Director of the Faraday Institute for Science and Religion at St. Edmunds College, Cambridge, will be visiting Baylor on October 21, 2010. He will give public lecture on "The Dawkins Delusion: Debunking the Conflict Between Science and Religion" at 7:00 p.m. in room B110 in the Baylor Sciences Building.
Guest columnist to the Waco Tribune-Herald, Dr. Michael Attas, reflects upon "the fear of uncertainty" in health care and its connection to spirituality, which he highlights as a theme in a book by Dr. Daniel Sulmasy. Dr. Sulmasy will be giving the Carl F. H. Henry lecture for the 2010 Baylor Symposium on Faith and Culture: "Human Dignity and the Future of Health Care" at 7:30 p.m. on October 29.
