2004 Faculty Retreat
Thirty members of the Baylor University faculty, including twelve from the Honors College, spent the week of May 17-21, 2004 at Laity Lodge participating in Vocation, Liberal Learning, and the Professions. The retreat was led members of Baylor's faculty and administration: Michael Beaty, vice provost for faculty development and professor of philosophy; Douglas Henry, director of the Institute for Faith and Learning; Thomas Hibbs, dean of the Honors College; and Todd Lake, dean for University Ministries. Participants prepared for the retreat by completing a number of assigned readings, and concluded the retreat by reflecting upon their experiences through written responses.
Nineteen faculty members in the School of Social Work spent the weekend of January 29-31, 2004 at Spring Lakes Retreat Center participating in Vocation and the Profession of Social Work. Leadership was provided by Drs. Beaty and Henry in collaboration with Diana Garland, dean of the School of Social Work, and Laine Scales, professor of social work and associate dean of the Graduate School.
