The third annual Bill and Roberta Bailey Family Lecture in Christian Ethics was delivered April 21, by L. Gregory Jones, Ph.D. His lecture is titled “It’s Not (Only) About You: Cultures, Institutions, and Forming Virtuous People.”
IFL Announces Appointment of Rev. Susan Jones as Senior Fellow

IFL to Host Third Annual Bailey Family Lecture
The third annual Bill and Roberta Bailey Family Lecture in Christian Ethics will be delivered at 3:30 p.m., Thursday, April 21, in the Paul W. Powell Chapel of the George W. Truett Theological Seminary.
The lecture will be delivered by L. Gregory Jones, Ph.D., the Ruth W. and A. Morris Williams, Jr. Professor of Theology and Christian Ministry at Duke Divinity School. His lecture is titled “It’s Not (Only) About You: Cultures, Institutions, and Forming Virtuous People.”

Universities need to ask why they exist and who they serve, ethicist and theologian Stanley Hauerwas told a gathering at Baylor University. Christian higher education should recognize it exists to serve the Christian community and the common good, he said.
Crane Scholar Jacob Imam Wins Marshall Scholarship
Jacob Imam, a senior University Scholar at Baylor University, has been selected as one of 32 American university students – and the only student from a Texas university – to receive the prestigious 2016 Marshall Scholarship... The premier scholarly award will allow Imam to fund his studies at Oxford University, where he will seek a master in philosophy degree (M.Phil.) in Islamic studies and history.

IFL Director Addresses BYU's Wheatley Institution
On September 30, IFL Director, Dr. Darin Davis, visited The Wheatley Institution at BYU to discuss educating for wisdom and the state of the contemporary academy. His lecture, entitled Faith, Learning & Educating for Wisdom, asked, "How can universities and institutions of higher learning adapt to the changing world and educate for wisdom?"
