We would be delighted to have you assist in our efforts to give expression to the breadth and depth of faithfully Christian intellectual life. Our work, we believe, bears thoughtful witness to the plenitude of a world created by God, redeemed through Christ, and sustained by the Holy Spirit. It is for us a labor of love, to which we devote our best energies and careful stewardship.
If you would like to make a gift or commitment in support of the Institute for Faith and Learning, the office of University Development makes secure online giving possible. To ensure that we receive your support when you visit the secure giving website, please indicate "Institute for Faith in Learning" in one of the text boxes under the Endowed or Excellence Fund categories. You may of course always mail your gift to us, including a clear designation of the purpose of your gift, at our Baylor University postal address:

We would naturally be pleased to visit with you further about opportunities to assist the Institute's work. At present, we are especially looking for patrons to help with the following funding priorities:
For Students
Crane Scholars Program [current]
A pressing problem for Christian universities, especially Baptist institutions is "Who will be the next generation of Christian university professors?" The Crane Scholars Program addresses this problem by identifying academically gifted students, nurturing them as Christian scholars, and preparing them for admission to top-tier graduate schools. In order to cultivate a community of undergraduates who desire to be both faithful Christians and productive scholars, the program includes book discussion groups, retreats, workshops, and mentoring.
For Faculty
Christian Scholarship Development Program [proposed]
The Christian Scholarship Development Program makes research grants available on a competitive basis to fund projects that exemplify or develop Christian scholarship and teaching. These grants encourage Baylor faculty to explore the connection between Christian intellectual traditions and the various academic fields. Research is typically disseminated by publication in academic journals or presses, colloquia, or conference presentations.
Faculty Fellowship Program [proposed]
The Faculty Fellowship Program supports up to ten Baylor faculty members each semester in a common program of reading, reflection, and writing. Faculty Fellows deepen their awareness of the challenges that have given rise to the secularization of higher education, understanding of the bearing of Christian faith upon the academic disciplines, and preparedness to pursue their teaching and scholarship in a way that demonstrates the integration of faith and learning.
Collaborations
Baylor Symposium on Faith and Culture [current]
An annual conference addressing important issues from the vantage point of Christian intellectual traditions, by featuring leading national and international scholars, and by hospitably welcoming a wide range of participants from varied denominational, private, and public universities.
Young Scholars in the Baptist Academy [current]
The Institute for Faith and Learning collaborates with The Meetinghouse at Georgetown College to host an annual summer seminar entitled Young Scholars in the Baptist Academy. The weeklong colloquy is convened at Regent's Park College in the University of Oxford, where participants explore the Christian faith and its relation to the life of the mind, with special emphasis on Baptist understandings of the Christian faith.
Endowed Lecture Series [proposed]
An endowed lecture series would enrich the work of the Institute for Faith and Learning within the Baylor community and expose its work to the wider academic world. We envision one public lecture each semester delivered by a leading international or national scholar who addresses a contemporary problem from a Christian perspective. The lectures would be coordinated with various units at Baylor such as the College of Arts and Sciences or the Dean of Chapel.
