Clerical Positions



Human Resources is pleased to announce a change in our clerical testing process for clerical positions posted after September 28, 2009. Effective September 28th, clerical testing will be required only for those positions indicated, and for those applicants selected to participate in the interview process. If selected for an interview, you will be contacted via email to schedule the required testing.

Testing sessions are generally one and a half hours in length and are administered between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Tests may include, but are not limited to: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, typing, 10-key, visual speed and accuracy, editing and formatting, proofreading, and basic math.

NOTE: Please be aware that the application session will generally "time out" after approximately three hours.

POSITION TITLE: Administrative Assistant
DEPARTMENT NAME: School of Nursing
This position is located Dallas, TX

PURPOSE: This position specifically supports the mission by providing routine clerical support for the Student Services Department and the Barnabas Success Center.
QUALIFICATIONS: A high school degree and less than one year of relevant work experience are required. An Associate's degree and three years of experience are preferred. The selected individual should have excellent customer service skills. This position does not required clerical testing. POSITION TITLE: Administrative Associate (Part Time - 20 hours per week)
DEPARTMENT NAME: Office of Governmental Relations

PURPOSE: This position specifically supports the mission by helping the Director of Governmental Relations, developing productive relations with the state of Texas and City of Waco, appropriately monitoring and regulating campus political activity, maintaining timely and effective communication with internal and external constituencies and by maintaining accurate financial records to ensure compliance with internal budget policies and external lobbying rules and guidelines.
QUALIFICATIONS: A high school degree and three years of relevant work experience are required. An Associate's degree and three years of experience are preferred. The selected individual should have excellent communications skills, both oral and written, as well as experience working with Microsoft Office software. If selected for an interview, candidates will be contacted to complete required clerical testing, unless they have done so previously. PURPOSE: This position specifically supports the mission by providing staff support to the Office of the Vice Provost for Research, with particular respect to research compliance and technology transfer functions.
QUALIFICATIONS: A high school degree and less than one year of relevant work experience are required. An Associate's degree and five years of experience are preferred. The selected individual should have excellent communications skills, both oral and written and possess the ability to multitask.
