With all the media coverage on health care reform, commonly called ObamaCare, HR receives inquiries about how health care reform will impact Baylor faculty and staff. Fortunately, Baylor only needed to make a few changes and as long as you are covered by Baylor's plan, you do not need to do anything. Baylor endeavors to provide competitive medical benefits. Here are a few items that changed as a result of health care reform:
- Health Care Flexible Spending Account contributions were capped at $2,500 for 2013
- Baylor implemented a 2014 requirement which allows a child to be covered to 26 even if the child is eligible for other coverage
- Annual Preventive services are covered at 100% without other charges
We will keep you informed as any new information becomes available that will impact Baylor's plan.
