When you experience an employment status change within Baylor University that results in a gain or loss of eligibility for medical and/or dental coverage, you may be able to make certain adjustments to your benefits correlating to your status change within 30 days of the change.
Decrease in hours: If your hours decrease to less than 75% load for faculty (determined by your letter of appointment) or less than 30 hours for staff, you become ineligible for University contributions toward your group insurance medical care, life insurance, dental care, and prescription drug benefits. If you do not have another medical/dental plan available to you and wish to continue on the medical or dental plans, you would complete a Continuation of Coverage form and forward to Human Resources.
Increase in hours: If your hours increase to 75% load or more for faculty (determined by your letter of appointment) or to 30 hours or more for staff, you become eligible for University contributions toward your group insurance medical care, life insurance, dental care, and prescription drug benefits.
