Open Enrollment

Open Enrollment for 2014 begins November 1, 2013 and ends November 30, 2013

Should you need help at any time during the open enrollment process, please contact askHR by phone at ext. 2000 or by email

Open enrollment is your annual opportunity to make benefit changes to your current insurance plans and/or enroll/continue with your FSA for the following calendar year. Elections/changes during open enrollment are effective January 1. Enrollment or cancellation of participation in group medical, dental, cancer, intensive care, recovery plus, or accident insurance products may only be completed during the open enrollment period. Eligible faculty/staff who reject or drop coverage may not enroll until the next open enrollment period unless qualified based on a change in Life Events.

If you want to keep your current 2013 medical or dental plan elections in 2014, you do not need to do anything. Please note, though, it is important to review the plan details to ensure your current plan is still the best option for you. If you are enrolled in the Healthcare or Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account, IRS Regulations require that you must re-enroll each year.

What's New for 2014?

  1. There are no changes to the existing group PPO medical plan benefits.
  2. Premium costs for the group medical plan have increased by $2 to $20 per month depending on salary range and coverage election.
  3. A new option, a PPO plus a Health Savings Account has been added! Over the years, faculty and staff have expressed interest in adding this option. We are pleased to make it available! Details on the advantages of this new option, how it works and compares can be viewed here.
  4. No changes to dental benefits or premium costs!
