Baylor's Hidden Human Resources Benefits
Human Resources (HR) staffs two Notary Publics. The service is typically available Monday through Friday between the hours of 8am - 5pm, at no cost to faculty and staff. If you find that you have an item needing to be notarized, please feel free to call our AskHR Customer Service Center at ext. 2000 to schedule an appointment for the most efficient service. You may also email HR at firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule an appointment or for further questions.
Access to Answers
The askHR customer service center is fully staffed Monday through Friday between the hours of 8am - 5pm with Customer Service Representatives who can answer nearly any question or they can refer you to someone who can assist. Coaching Through Difficult Work Situations
HR, through the Client Relationship Managers (CRMs), offers confidential coaching and counseling except in limited circumstances where legal or ethical issues require further review. For more information about the CRMs or to contact a CRM, click here.
Job Description Database
You can review your job description to be sure it accurately represents your position responsibilities. We encourage you to discuss your job description with your supervisor in the event you feel it should be updated to include or to remove job functions. You can find your job description by using the database tool which can be found here.

Baylor's Hidden Miscellaneous Benefits
The Baylor Bookstore is a treasure trove of BU fan gear. But in addition to everything green and gold, they also have items such as software, computers, tablets, smart phone accessories, and much, much more! These items can be purchased through payroll deduct (if elected through the payroll office), with a 10% discount on most merchandise. The cashier�s office offers check cashing for faculty and staff. Here are the highlights:
- Baylor payroll checks
- Guaranteed checks
- Personal checks - $300.00 limit
- Two party checks - $300.00 limit (2nd party responsible for returned checks and returned check fees)
- No third party checks
- Check cashing privileges may be revoked for returned checks

The University Libraries have so much to offer faculty and staff. In addition to books, journals, and electronic resources, they also offer free check-out of over 1,000 feature films on DVD! Information Technology Services
Our Information Technology Services group is well known around campus for assisting with the set up and operations of our computers and systems. However, did you know that they also offer courses on how to use software programs and other systems? Or that they provide some anti-virus and other software programs at no charge to faculty and staff for business and home use? Baylor's Hidden Entertainment Benefits
Mayborn Museum Complex
Just on the edge of campus, you will find the Mayborn Museum complex. The Mayborn offers many different exhibits, shows, and demonstrations throughout the year. Additionally, the museum offers a monthly �Free Sunday�. Below are just a few of the interesting and exciting items awaiting faculty and staff members:
- The Governor Bill and Vara Daniel Historic Village
- A replica of Waco�s famous mammoth site
- A replica Comanche tipi
- 16 other themed Discovery rooms
- Faculty and Staff receive a 20% discount off of yearly memberships. Membership levels vary.

The Game Room
The Game Room is located in the basement of the Bill Daniel Student Union Building. The Game Room has many different types of entertainment, including bowling, game tables, and pool tables available for individual and family use. Parties may also be booked. The Game Room is available at a reduced rate to faculty and staff, and guests may be admitted as well. Current pricing:
- Bowling - $5.00/hr for BU faculty, staff and students; price includes shoe rental
- Game Room - $1.80/hr for BU faculty, staff and students
- Parties - $85.00/hr for BU affiliated groups

School of Music - Recitals and Special Events
Throughout the year, the School of Music offers many different options for music lovers to hear recitals, special guest composers, and special guest musicians. They offer approximately 300 concerts per year which all faculty and staff are encouraged to attend. Most concerts are free and those that are not are reasonably priced. Below are just a few of the many different options the School of Music offers:

- Choral Concerts
- Symphony Orchestra

Martin Museum of Art
Located in the Hooper-Schaefer Fine Arts Center, the Martin Museum of Art houses a permanent collection of approximately 1150 objects. These represent a wide variety of art that has been donated to or purchased by Baylor University. The collection contains artwork by such well-known artists as Robert Rauschenberg, Kathe Kollwitz, Francisco de Goya, and Edouard-Leon Cortes. Included in the collection are approximately 300 paintings representing famous watercolor artists such as George Post, Phil Dike, Edgar Whitney, and John Marin. Additionally, the Martin Museum of Art also brings in traveling exhibits, such as the Ansel Adams collection which was here in Fall 2013. Most of the exhibits are free to the public.

Baylor's Hidden Wellness Benefits
Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
At no cost to the employee, Baylor provides an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) to help out with life�s challenges for the employee and their family members. Baylor�s EAP is not just for counseling needs, though they are included. Some unique services our EAP provides include:
- Legal - Financial matters (bankruptcy), Will preparation, Estate planning, Identity Theft assistance and more
- Elder Care - Skilled Nursing Facilities, Home Medical Equipment, Assisted Living Facilities, and more
- Child Care Services - Nanny agencies, babysitters, before and after school care, and more
- Wellness Programs - Women�s health, Men�s health, Smoking Cessation programs and more
Additionally, every family member in the household is eligible for up to 3 face-to-face counseling consultations per occurrence (for things like depression, teen challenges, marital issues, etc), and through a private, third party, employees and/or their family members have access to a wide array of services. Student Life Center
The Student Life Center is a free onsite fitness center for Baylor faculty and staff members and their families. The SLC provides access to the many programs and equipment, some of which require a reasonable fee. Also faculty and staff members have free access to Russell Gym, Baylor Marina , and Bear Trail. Some highlights of the SLC include:
- Access to the pool for a Pool Party @ the SLC
- Rock climbing lessons
- Indoor track
- Racquetball and basketball courts
- Faculty/staff only aerobics classes
- Guest passes for a nominal fee

Health Center in the SLC
Located in the Student Life Center, select services are rendered to faculty and staff at a minimum fee based on costs to the center. These are limited to:
- Flu vaccines
- TB skin test
- Vaccinations and inoculations for overseas travel
- Pharmacy prescriptions filled

Faculty/Staff Fitness Programs
We offer an array of classes around campus to meet the needs of our faculty and staff. Classes are offered at a minimal cost to the faculty and staff, and can be paid for with a payroll deduction. If you prefer to do fitness activities on your own, you can also join �My OSO Fit�, keep track of your fitness activities and receive an incentive at the end of the program each semester.
