Entering Students Fall 2015

Once again, congratulations on your admission to the Honors Program. You've joined a select group of students who have committed themselves to getting the most out of their Baylor education. The Honors Program faculty and staff look forward to meeting you this summer and working with you in the fall.

Unable to attend Honors Line Camp?

Honors Line Camp was a great success, but we know that not everyone was able to attend. In the link below, please find a copy of the Line Camp handbook that was distributed in July. For those interested in getting a "big picture" overview of what higher education can offer, please read Stanley Hauerwas' essay, "Go With God: An Open Letter to Young Christians on their way to College," starting on page 4.

Reminder: HRC Move-in on August 19

Move-in day for new residents in the Honors Residential College takes place on Wednesday, August 19. All students should have received an email (check your Baylor email account!) regarding the particular times that various residence halls open for move-in. There will be plenty of help getting you into your room when you arrive on campus, but be sure to label all your boxes, luggage, totes, etc. with your name and room number.

Welcome Week, August 19-21

Welcome week will be an exciting, busy time for you! During these first few days, you'll want to finish unpacking your room, meet your hall mates, and prepare for the start of class on August 24. For those who still need to take placement tests, August 19-21 are the best days to take care of this. For those who want to continue with Spanish as their foreign language requirement, be sure to take the Spanish Placement Test available in the Language Acquisition Center, Draper 300.

Premed/prehealth Honors students are invited to a welcome meeting with our prehealth advisors and faculty on Thursday, August 20, at 4 pm in the Alexander Reading Room. If you've not yet met Dr. Lisa Baker or Dr. Bill Neilson, be sure to attend!

During Welcome Week, the Honors College will host an Open House Reception on Friday, August 21, from 3:00-4:30. All incoming students to the Honors Program are encouraged to attend. This will be an opportunity for you to informally meet some of your professors, advisors, and other Honors College staff while enjoying cookies and Dr. Pepper floats.
