Historical Research and Writing

Good historical research is the key to a successful history fair project. Good research requires the use of both primary and secondary sources to develop an understanding of events and people of the past.

Students entering the history fair should choose topics on which a rich variety of research sources is available.

As they do their research, students must keep careful notes on the sources they consult so that they will have all of the information they need for the annotated bibiliography required for all projects.

For suggestions on research sources available in Central Texas and on the Internet, see Suggested Sources.
