The International History Honor Society

Our Mission Statement

"We are a professional society whose mission is to promote the study of history through the encouragement of research, good teaching, publication and the exchange of learning and ideas among historians. We seek to bring students, teachers and writers of history together for intellectual and social exchanges, which promote and assist historical research and publication by our members in a variety of ways."

The Tau Beta chapter of Phi Alpha Theta is an active and vital presence in the life of the Baylor University Department of History, serving both as an honor society promoting academic excellence and as a history undergraduate leadership organization. The Tau Beta Executive Council works hard with the faculty sponsor to create events throughout the year that are both fun and stimulating. If you are interested in joining the Tau Beta Chapter, you can apply online or come by the History Department office provided you meet the membership requirements.

The Baylor Tau Beta Chapter has an annual spring picnic celebrating the new members to Phi Alpha Theta.
