Baylor DrumlineWelcome to the Baylor Drumline website!
The Baylor Drumline (BDL) consists of approximately 32 percussionists who come from all facets of university life. The philosophy of the marching percussion program at Baylor is one that aims to balance personal and educational growth. The BDL strives create an educational environment that is conducive to a high level of performance while upholding the rich traditions of the Baylor University Golden Wave Band.
Each member of the BDL, new or returning, is required to audition for a position on the drumline every year. Positions include; snare, tenor, bass drum and cymbals. The BDL adheres to a drum and bugle corps-style of playing and marching.

Auditions for the Baylor Drumline are Saturday, August 8, 2009.
The schedule is as follows:
BAYLOR DRUMLINE AUDITION CAMP
Saturday, August 8th, 2009 - McCrary Music Building
8:00 – 8:30am: Check-in (Jones Concert Hall)
8:30am – 9:00am: General technique session (Jones Concert Hall)
9:00am – 10:45am: Full line rehearsal (Jones Concert Hall)
11:00am – 12:30pm: Individual auditions (MMB118). Prepare a 30 second to 1 minute excerpt of your choosing that shows your playing ability on the instrument for which you wish to audition. You will also sightread a small musical excerpt. The basic drumline warm-up/exercises will be posted in the Drumline section of the GWB Blackboard page (my.baylor.edu).
12:30pm – 1:30pm: Lunch (on your own)
1:30pm – 3:00pm: Full line rehearsal (Jones Concert Hall)
3:30pm – 5:00pm: Sectionals (Sectional Rooms)
5:00pm – 6:00pm: Dinner TBA
6:00pm – 8:45pm: Full line rehearsal (Jones Concert Hall)
8:45pm – 9:00pm: Wrap up (Jones Concert Hall)
