GBR 2009: At the Finish- Team 7

"The Great Brazos Relay has to be one of my all time favorite Baylor experiences. Running relay style 120 miles from Waco to College Station with 6 of my good friends, through rain, mud, night and cold, passing through scenic autumn views of our beautiful state of Texas, running as fast as my lungs and legs would take me down lonely highways and Brazos Valley back roads, piling up in the old pickup truck and blaring our favorite music, cheering on my buddies (and runners from other teams), and finally, going on to WIN the first ever running of the race... this will be a story I will tell for a long, long time. I can't express how grateful I am to the cool cats who started this thing. It must have taken so much courage, creativity, and determination to put on such an awesome event, an event that I dearly hope can become one of Baylor's most unique traditions. Don't let this thing die - I know I will do all that I can to come back and run this thing till I'm 94. Cheers." -Brazos Fielder, Team Captain of Los Brazos de Dios

"My favorite part of the race occurred around 2 am. I was running down the highway in the middle of nowhere. No cars, no people, no other runners, just me and the pavement. It was so peaceful and absolutely silent. It was an amazing feeling!"-Eric Danielson
