Great Texts and the Baylor Curriculum

Students from throughout the university now have an opportunity to take Great Texts.

Honors College

All students enrolled in the Honors Program and the University Scholars Program take two required Great Texts courses, GTX 2301 (The Intellectual Tradition of the Ancient World) and GTX 2302 (Medieval Intellectual Tradition).

University Scholars take these courses during their Freshman year. Honors Program students take GTX 2301 during the Spring of the Freshman year and GTX 2302 during the Fall of the second year.

College of Arts and Sciences

Great Texts is an option for fulfilling the fourth literature requirement in English. Students in the College may also pursue a major or minor concentration of studies in Great Texts of the Western Tradition. To learn more about this major and minor, click here.

School of Engineering and Computer Science

All students who enter the university in the Fall of 2003 and after will take two required Great Texts courses, GTX 2301 and GTX 2302.

Hankamer School of Business

Great Texts is an option for fulfilling the Humanities core requirement for the B.B.A.
