The official spirit wordmark is available both as a straight line and as arched type. A second line under the spirit wordmark allows for branding by varsity sport in both straight text and in a banner drop down version. The individual varsity sport name is part of the official spirit mark and may not be altered in any way. The spirit marks and spirit brands by sport are the only authorized marks for use on all Athletic materials, including signage, uniforms, advertising, websites, or any other official Athletic Department marketing item.
Use of the spirit wordmark with the black outline and drop-down banner is restricted to varsity sports.
Use of the simple spirit wordmark with the straight second line is allowed for branding of other areas of University life, but the mark must be created by University Marketing and Communications' Marketing Design office to conform to specific design requirements. Use of the co-branded mark also must comply with the Graphic Standards Program.
Use by non-athletic departments of the spirit wordmark and a straight line of text for the University sub-unit is not the official mark of the sub-unit and is not to be use for external advertising or marketing on brochures, posters, etc. It may be used for on-campus marketing on T-shirts, automotive stickers, etc.
The simple spirit wordmark with the straight line of text may be used by non-athletic departments of the University only for promotional items with a spirit theme. Examples include T-shirts, automotive stickers, etc. Note that this is not the official mark of the sub-unit and is not to be used for external advertising or marketing on brochures, posters, etc.
