Dr. Lori D. Sigrist, PhD, RD, CSSD, CSCS
Director, Graduate Program in Nutrition
Dr. Sigrist is the Director for the Graduate Program in Nutrition. Lori received her BS in Dietetics from the University of Akron and PhD in Nutrition from Colorado State University. She is a Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics, a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, and has an Adult Weight Management Certification from the Commission on Dietetic Registration. After completing the U.S. Army Dietetic Internship, Lori started her nutrition career as the Chief, Clinical Dietetics Branch at Moncrief Army Hospital, Fort Jackson, SC. She then worked in a variety of specialty areas including health promotion, food service management, and clinical dietetics at Fort Carson, CO and Brooke Army Medical Center, San Antonio, TX. For 4 years, Lori was the dietitian at the Army Physical Fitness Research Institute in Carlisle, PA conducting health and fitness assessments and providing nutrition education to military officers and Department of Defense senior leaders attending the U.S. Army War College. After obtaining her PhD in 2001, she conducted weight management research at the U.S. Army Research Institute of Environmental Medicine in Natick, MA. As Director of the Army Weight Management Research Program, she directed research to evaluate weight management strategies for a military population, collaborating with Pennington Biomedical Research Center, Unilever, and GlaxoSmithKline. In her current position as Director for the Graduate Program in Nutrition, Lori ensures that the program produces top quality military officers and Registered Dietitians.
