Kati Matthews
MS Communication Sciences and Disordes
MS Communication Sciences and Disordes

Having received her bachelor's degree in communication sciences and disorders from Baylor, Kati Matthews knew she wanted to continue her education in that field. The only question was where.
After weighing the pros and cons of every graduate school she was interested in, the Dallas native soon realized that the Baylor program would once again be the best fit for her. "I realized the combination of Baylor's distinguished faculty, gracious student body, and welcoming community was hard to find elsewhere," she says.
One of the biggest perks of the CSD graduate school is the Baylor Speech and Hearing Clinic, where students receive invaluable hands-on experience in working with clients who have the same impairments and disabilities one learns in the classroom. "Baylor's graduate program gives you not only the skills and knowledge to be successful but also the experience," Kati says. "I know I will be a better speech-language pathologist after truly experiencing what I am learning daily in the classroom."
In addition to the real world experience, Baylor's CSD program also incorporates the best and latest research from the world into the classroom, arming students with the most up to date knowledge for future employment.
As for Kati, she hopes to work as a speech pathologist upon graduation. However, Baylor's graduate school continues to surprise and impress her, even during her job search. "With the economic times we are experiencing, I was not expecting the response that I have received," she says. "The interest in my skills, which I have acquired through the Communication Sciences and Disorders Program, has been unbelievable." She continues, "Not only are speech-language pathologists in demand right now, but employers are looking forward to hiring Baylor graduates due to the quality of education and preparation they receive."
