SET for Graduate Students

Graduate Students

Graduate student TORs in their first semester of teaching are required to participate in SET unless exempt. If you are a graduate student TOR, please review carefully the following requirements:
Graduate students who are NEW TORs are required to complete at least 5 seminars in the following SET program either prior to or during their first semester of teaching in order to continue as a TOR.

Departmental SET Sessions:
Graduate Program Directors who wish to offer a special section for their TORs should contact Associate Dean Laine Scales. Please check here for the list of departments who have a special SET session.

Exemptions:
As SET seeks to avoid redundancies, many TORs will be exempt from the mandatory attendance of seminars due to approved courses in their own departments. Please check here for exemptions.

New graduate student TORs who have taught at least two semesters in other universities and colleges besides Baylor may apply for an exemption from the SET requirements by providing documentation to Dr. Laine Scales in the Graduate School. Please contact her for more information at 254-710-4487.
