Aug 25 First day of classes.
Sept 1 Labor Day Holiday.
Sept 5 Last day for graduate students to file for December 2014 Commencement.
Sept 8 Formatting Workshop 3:30-5:00 p.m. Morrison Hall 100 Snacks Served
Sept 9 Formatting Workshop 12:00-1:30 p.m. Morrison Hall 100 Pizza served, first come first served!
Oct 13 Deadline for purchasing doctoral regalia for December 2014 Commencement.
Oct 17-19 Fall Break
Oct 31** Last day to take the oral examination (oral defense) for dissertation/thesis candidates for December 2014 Commencement. (All incompletes for coursework other than dissertation/thesis hours must be cleared before the oral examination can be taken.)**The Preliminary Technical Review is required and must be scheduled at least 2 weeks before the oral examination. See Guidelines.
Nov 5 Last day for submission of the Record of Oral Examination form to Graduate School for dissertation/thesis students.
Nov 7 Last day to satisfy the Graduate School foreign language requirement for December 2014 Commencement. Refer to this website for details.
Nov 10 Last day for electronic submission of the departmentally defended and approved copy of the dissertation/thesis for December 2014 Commencement.
Nov 14 Deadline for renting doctoral regalia for December 2014 Commencement.
Nov 26-30 Thanksgiving Holidays
Dec 1 Change of Grade form to remove incompletes and petitions for transfer of credit for all students and all coursework must be received by the Graduate School by this date.
Dec 8 Last day of classes. Last day for students in non-thesis programs to take the oral or comprehensive examination for December 2014 Commencement. The Record of Oral Examination form or results from comprehensive exams must be delivered to the Graduate School by this date (do not put in campus mail).
Dec 9-10 Study Days
Dec 11-16 Final Examinations (includes Saturday, December 13).
Dec 18-19 Administrative check on graduate candidates for graduation, including overall GPA requirements, foreign language proficiency requirements, and any outstanding obligations.
Dec 19 Doctoral Dinner, 6:30 p.m., BDSC, Barfield Drawing Room.
Dec 20 Commencement at the Ferrell Center, 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Commencement information is available online.

January 12 First day of classes
January 19 Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday
January 26 Last day for graduate students to file for May 2015 Commencement. To file, visit under Current Students tab.
TBA Formatting Workshops, Morrison Hall.
March 6 Last day to take the oral examination (oral defense) for May 2015 Commencement dissertation/thesis candidates. (All incompletes for coursework other than dissertation/thesis hours must be cleared before the oral examination can be taken.)
