Leadership Teams
All Global Community members will participate in one of our teams. These teams are the core of the community and students receive the opportunity to have a say in all aspects of their community life. All teams are led by experienced Global Community returners. Check them out, there is something for everyone!
Buzz and Memory-Making
This team will primarily have two jobs. One will be to take pictures (and video) of Global Community events and activities. The other job will be to produce the articles (and visuals) needed for Lariat pieces and our Oso Global Newsletter. Journalism, Marketing, Creative Writing and Photography majors might enjoy this team
Cohort Class
The Cohort Class Committee will have the job to help plan and give input for the Global Community LLC Cohort Course held on Monday evenings. In the spring semester this team will have the opportunity to teach one of the community classes. Education and International Studies major might enjoy this!
Cuisine and Culture
This team will plan, prepare, and orchestrate the community Monthly Dinners which are held in the hall director’s apartment. This is a great way for students to share their own ethnic culture and cuisine. Family recipes are always welcome! Nutrition, Anthropology, and Area studies might like this team.
Current World Affairs
The goal of this team will be to focus on current world events and informing and education the Global Community on what is happening in the world. This is great for students who enjoy staying up on current events and will also involve planning several interactive activities. International Studies, History, and Political Science majors might enjoy this.
Fundraising
The goal of this team will brainstorm, research, and execute fundraising activities to benefit GC-LLC students, Baylor, the Waco Community, and Global partners/ministries abroad. Business majors and ministry interested students please apply!
Language Experience
The goal of this team will be to focus on the language acquisition aspect of the Global Community in the immersion suites. The committee will work together in order to improve and maintain high standards of the language experience as well as set-up language-centered activities with our suite liaisons. This might be the team for Language majors and Linguists
Marketing and Media
This team will work together to spread the word about the benefits of living in the Global Community (GC). They will do this live and in person as well as through mailings and internet publicity. They will try to reach both current Baylor students and prospective students. Art, Film, and Marketing Majors might enjoy this team!
Service and Missions
The goal of this team will be to help inform the members of the GC-LLC about service activities on Baylor University’s campus, and around the Waco area as well as plan and promote a GC specific service event such as Steppin’ Out. Christian Ministries, School of Social Work, and Religion majors might enjoy this team.
Special Events and Activities
The goal of this team will be to plan and orchestrate two Global Community Events each semester. These events will include the fall and spring field trips as well as the spring banquet. Business majors and event planners might enjoy this team!
