Our news

Do you want to study with Baylor in Paris next summer and live with a French family? C'est simple!

You need to have completed two semesters of French by 2015, and turn in the completed application with a $300 deposit to Dr. Cristian Bratu or Prof. Marie Level.

Congratulations to our French major Cimarron Parker for being accepted into NYU's Master's program in Paris! Félicitations, Cimarron, et bonne chance!

Bienvenue!

Liberté Egalité Fraternité French is the only other language besides English that is spoken on five continents. Moreover, it is the official language in 33 countries, and one of the official languages of the United Nations, the Olympic Committee, Doctors without Borders, and other international organizations. To understand French gives one access to the great wealth of French literature and thought that has existed for centuries. Just imagine being able to read in the original authors such as Montaigne, Molière, Voltaire, Camus, Foucault, Derrida... Or imagine watching "Amélie" without having to read the subtitles...

So, why not consider taking French and perhaps majoring or minoring in this language? French is a useful complement to an international career in business, diplomacy, government, journalism, law, public relations, and the travel industry. We offer advanced courses in cinema, civilization, language studies and literature. French studies could be the ideal major or minor for you!

P.S. By the way, now you can also join us on Facebook (Baylor - French Division)

Fun fact: Did you know that the bronze bells from Pat Neff were cast at a foundry in Annecy, France?
