September 9, 2013 — The members of the Baylor Alumni Association (BAA) voted today not to approve the Transition Agreement between the BAA and Baylor University with a vote of 830 in favor of the agreement and 668 voting "no," representing a "yes" vote of 55 percent. A two-thirds approval of members present was required to pass the measure.

September 6, 2013 — The Baylor Board of Regents unanimously approved the new License Agreement for the Baylor Line Corporation (BLC) in a special meeting today (Friday). The BLC will be created if the Transition Agreement receives a two-thirds approval in tomorrow's September 7 vote by the members of the Baylor Alumni Association (BAA). BAA members must vote in person at the meeting in Waco Hall.

September 5, 2013 — The BLC license agreement was developed with input from a Journalism Advisory Group (JAG) of Baylor graduates and supporters with decades of experience in newspapers and magazines. The group, convened by BAA board member Ella Wall Prichard '63, worked with Mike Bourland '66, JD '69, attorney for the BAA, to make recommendations for the BLC license agreement to ensure editorial independence and access to Baylor officials.

September 3, 2013 — On September 3, the Baylor Alumni Association posted this to Facebook:
"The BAA board of directors voted 28-7 in favor of the proposed Transition Agreement in a meeting today. Seventeen members of the board were absent and did not vote."

September 3, 2013 — The Baylor Alumni Association (BAA) has posted the membership list online so that people can check membership status before the vote on Saturday, September 7. Members of the BAA will vote on Saturday at an 11 a.m. meeting in Waco Hall on the proposed Transition Agreement with the university.

September 2, 2013 — The Baylor Alumni Association will host its second all-member conference call on Thursday, September 5, at noon CDT, to update members and answer questions about the Transition Agreement, which is scheduled for a vote in Waco on September 7.

August 30, 2013 — The Baylor Alumni Association board of directors has adopted standing rules for the September 7 all-member meeting to vote on the proposed Transition Agreement and for the preceding discussion forum. The voting meeting will begin at 11 a.m. in Waco Hall, and the discussion forum--also in Waco Hall--will be from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m.

August 28, 2013 — The Baylor Alumni Association's board of directors voted to freeze the BAA membership list that will be used for the Sept. 7 meeting as of today, Aug. 28, 2013, at 12:30 p.m. CDT. New members who join after that time will not be able to vote on the Transition Agreement at the special meeting. The decision was the result of a unanimous vote during a conference-call meeting of the BAA board at noon CDT today.

August 23, 2013 — The Baylor Alumni Association (BAA) held an all-member conference call on Friday, August 23, at noon, and board president Collin Cox '97 answered almost twenty questions about the proposed Transition Agreement between the BAA and Baylor.

August 20, 2013 — The Baylor Alumni Association will host an all-member conference call on Friday, August 23, at noon CDT, to update members and answer questions about the Transition Agreement, which is scheduled for a vote in Waco on September 7.

August 10, 2013 — We believe the time has come for the Baylor Alumni Association to define its course for the future. The pending Transition Agreement represents the best opportunity for the association to retain an independent voice without entering into a litigious relationship with our beloved Baylor. On Sept. 7, please join us on a vote of yes on the Transition Agreement.

August 6, 2013 — The Baylor Alumni Association faces a major decision on September 7, and we want to provide you with as many details as possible about the Transition Agreement that will be up for a vote.

July 11, 2013 — After several hours of testimony in federal court in Waco, the judge told all parties--a single member of the Baylor Alumni Association (BAA) who sued the BAA, its officers, and Baylor University--to choose a mediator and set a meeting date before the end of the day.

July 10, 2013 — The executive committee of the Baylor Alumni Association (BAA) board of directors has recommended that the membership approve a transition for the organization.
