

2009-2010 Financial Aid Calendar for Returning Students
January 1, 2009 Filing the FAFSA First date to file the 2009-2010 FAFSA at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Be sure to use accurate, completed 2008 tax return information on your FAFSA. Allow 7 to 10 business days for your FAFSA results to be received at Baylor.
March 1, 2009 Priority Date for FAFSA This is the priority date we need to have received your 2009-2010 FAFSA results. FAFSAs received prior to March 1, 2009 will be given priority consideration for financial aid. FAFSAs received after this date will be considered for aid based on the availability of funds.
March 15, 2009 2009-2010 Aid Offers Returning students will start receiving their 2009-2010 financial aid offers.
May 1, 2009 Receiving Your FAFSA Results Last date for Baylor to have received returning Baylor students' FAFSA results in order for the funds to be applied by the fall bill due date (July 31st). Students can submit a FAFSA after this date, but we cannot ensure that it can be reviewed and processed before the fall bill due date (July 31st).
May 15, 2009 to June 15, 2009 Securing Your Stafford Loan(s) The timeframe to complete the two step process of securing your Federal Stafford Loans (if you have not received one at Baylor previously or if your previous Stafford lender is no longer offering the loan) to allow enough processing time for the loan funds to be available by the fall bill due date (July 31st). This process includes completing both Entrance Counseling and Loans by Web. Access www.baylor.edu/finaid/secure to complete this requirement.
June 1, 2009 Receiving Required Documents Priority date to have received completed required documentation to allow enough processing time for funds to be available by the fall bill due date (July 31st). Students selected for the Verification process will be contacted by our office and informed regarding what documents they must submit. Students are strongly discouraged from submitting unsolicited Verification documents.
June 1, 2009 Last Day to Apply for an Alternative or PLUS Loan If you are applying for an Alternative Loan, or your parent is applying for a PLUS Loan, this is the latest date you should make your application with the lender of your choice to allow enough processing time for the funds to be available by the fall bill due date (July 31st).
June 15, 2009 Texas Core Residency Questionnaire Form Priority date for you to submit your Texas Core Residency Questionnaire form. This form is required of students claiming Texas residency who are receiving Texas-based financial aid.
July 10, 2009 Official Fall Bills Generated Official fall bills are generated this date. Please note that your financial aid will not reflect on your bill unless you have completed all requirements with our office. Check BearWeb for your financial aid status.
July 31, 2009 Fall Bill Due Date You are required to either pay your fall balance in full by this date, or make the minimum payment due to set up the installment plan. Late fees will be assessed after 5pm.
