Volume Numbers

Confused about the numbering of past issues of The Journal of Family and Community Ministries?

A Brief History
The journal started at Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary in 1986 as Family Ministry: Empowering Through Faith. After twenty years of publication, the decision was made to pass it on to Baylor University in Waco, TX. An issue was delayed during the hand-off, and so the confusion began...

Below is the correct numbering for The Journal of Family and Community Ministries. The most recent issue, 22.2 - Summer 2008, was mailed out in July. If you have not recieved your copy, please let us know. If you need to re-subscribe, just fill out this simple form!

Volume Issue Season Year
20 1 Spring
2 Summer
3 Fall
4 Winter 2007

21* 1 Summer
2** Fall
3 Winter 2008

22 1 Spring
2 Summer
3 Fall
4 Winter 2009

* - The premier issue as Family and Community Ministries: Empowering Through Faith. Spring was skipped, so the Summer issue was given the number of 21.1. Only three issues were made for Volume 21 so that the journal's numbering system could line up again.
** - There was a misprint on all copies of the Fall 2007 issue, 21.2. It was printed as "22.2" instead, and this numbering should be disregarded.

If there are any other questions about this, please give us some feedback or email Vicki Marsh Kabat, Managing Editor.
