The Beauty of Baylor

The Beauty of Baylor is designed to give families the opportunity to see more of what Baylor has to offer. Opportunities to learn more about Baylor's incredible campus include:

Martin Museum-Hooper-Schaeffer Fine Arts Center:
Baylor President and Chancellor Ken Starr and First Lady Alice Starr and Karin Gilliam, Director of the Martin Museum of Art, cordially invite you to a reception and gallery talk featuring the historic paintings and drawings of Texas Painter, Patriot and Baylor Professor Henry A. McArdle. This come and go reception will take place on Friday, September 19, from 4:00-5:00 p.m.

The Mayborn Museum Complex:
The Mayborn Museum, featuring many exhibits specific to Texas and her history, will be allowing students and their families admission to the museum for free on Saturday afternoon from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Complimentary Dr Pepper floats will be served from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

The Armstrong Browning Library:
Guided tours of the Armstrong Browning Library and Garden of Contentment will run from 11am-2pm.

The Baylor Bear Mascots:
Members of the Baylor Chamber of Commerce will be available to answer questions and provide information about the Baylor Bear Mascots Joy and Lady at the Bill and Eva Williams Bear Habitat from 11am-1pm.

Dining Options:
Penland Residential Restaurant will open at 10:30am on Saturday morning will close at 3:00pm. The Starbucks in Moody Library will also be open from 9:00am-11:00pm. SUB Dining will be available according to the following schedule:

Einstein's, 8:00am-2:00pm
Food Court, which includes Chick-Fil-A and Mooyah Burger, 10:00am-3:00pm

Other On-Campus Fun:
On Saturday afternoon, the Baylor Game Room is offering $1 bowling for Family Weekend guests, as well as free play on the many games in the game room. We also encourage, weather permitting, that families check out the Marina, a popular spot for many Baylor students.

Explore Waco:
The beauty of Baylor goes far beyond campus and very much includes the city of Waco. The Dr Pepper Museum will be offering $2 off admission for guests who mention they are visiting for Family Weekend. Other great Waco attractions include the Texas Ranger Museum and the Texas Sports Hall of Fame. Other Baylor student hotspots are Cameron Park, where you can hike and play disc golf, and Lake Waco. We encourage our guests of Family Weekend to explore Waco and see the great and unique aspects of this great town.
