History Walks - Bill Daniel Student Center
On Friday afternoon, families are encouraged to experience the history of Baylor through guided tours of campus. These tours, led by current students, will give parents a new perspective on the rich tradition of the university. Along the way, attendees will encounter Baylor Alumni who each have their own stories to tell.
Last Lectures - Bill Daniel Student Center
Inspired by the book, The Last Lecture, four Baylor professors have been invited to give what they deem their most important message to the families of Baylor's students. This event will give parents the opportunity to hear from the world-class faculty, who educate their students, in an environment similar to the classroom experience.
After Dark is an All-University variety show held annually during Family Weekend. It features top student talent from outstanding solo performances, dance, and stand-up comedy to musical theater. After Dark always proves to be a showcase for Baylor's creative students.
Dessert Party - Bill Daniel Student Center-Barfield Drawing Room
On Friday evening, the Drawing Room is transformed for the Dessert Party, with tables of delicious desserts, the music of a jazz band, and elegant lighting. Parents, families, and students may enjoy a dessert break and visiting around the table. This long-standing tradition is always a favorite of the weekend.
State of the University Address - Waco Hall
Baylor President, Judge Ken Starr, will give a brief presentation to families on Saturday morning in Waco Hall. Parents will hear about Baylor's Strategic Plan and the significant construction that is taking place. The presentation will be followed by a time for questions. A newer addition to the weekend, this event will offer a unique interaction with Judge Starr.
Parent-Faculty Coffee - Fountain Mall
One of the many aspects that sets Baylor apart is the faculty's devotion to their students. This is exemplified in Parent-Faculty Coffee where professors give of their own time to make themselves available to families. Hosted in the Bill Daniel Student Center (2nd and 3rd floors) on Saturday morning, the coffee allows parents the incredible opportunity to engage their student professors while enjoying coffee, juice, and delicious brunch items.
The Beauty of Baylor - Baylor Campus
Families are invited to participate in guided tours of some of the incredible Baylor facilities. The tours will run on Saturday afternoon. This is a wonderful chance to see some of the beauty of Baylor's campus. Along with on-campus possibilities, including the Bear Habitat, Armstrong Browning Library, and the Mayborn Museum. Families are also encouraged to explore the city of Waco, as well.
