Main Entrance to Robinson Tower Lot Closed Due to SinkholeMay 1, 2013
Due to a large sinkhole that developed this evening, the northbound lanes of University Parks Drive at the main entrance of Clifton Robinson Tower will be closed for an undetermined amount of time. The southbound lanes on University Parks Drive remain open.
With the main entrance to the tower on University Parks Drive closed, staff, students and faculty with business in Robinson Tower will need to take an alternate route to enter the tower parking lot for the time being. To access the tower, officials ask that drivers take Fourth Street to Webster, turn right on Webster and cross University Parks Drive by the fire station. A roadway to the right will take drivers through the area used by the Downtown Waco Farmers Market, along the Brazos, and into parking for the Tower.
Drivers may continue to exit the tower lot via the I-35 service road which remains open.
City of Waco crews are on the scene to determine the extent of the damage.
Thank you for your cooperation.
