Faculty & Staff AnnouncementsCounseling services available for students, faculty, and staff following the Fort Hood shootingsNov. 6, 2009Students needing assistance in response to the recent Fort Hood shootings can call 710-2467 or come by the Counseling Center. It will be important for students to let the administrative staff know it is a crisis and that they are seeking assistance because of the events at Fort Hood. There is an after-hours crisis line that students can call between 5 pm and 8 am the next morning, which is also available over the weekend. To contact the crisis line, students should call the main number (710-2467) and follow the directions for contacting a counselor after-hours.
Counseling assistance is available for faculty and staff, too. Any faculty or staff member needing support may contact the Employee Assistance Program (Horizon Health) at 1-888-293-6948 for short term, confidential counseling.
