Call for Engaged Learning Group pre-proposals

Oct. 30, 2009

Dear Faculty,

Baylor University's 2006/07 Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) reaccreditation resulted in the adoption of a Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) to strengthen scholarly engagement and to enhance research experiences for our undergraduates. One component of the QEP is the Engaged Learning Group (ELG) program, summarized here: http://www.baylor.edu/qep/index.php?id=42019.

The Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost now invites pre-proposals for the 2010-2012 ELGs. It should be noted that the QEP has a five-year trial period, ending in 2012, and therefore this may be the last year to inaugurate new ELGs unless the program is extended.

Guidelines for pre-proposals can be found here. I invite your feedback and participation, so please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions. Please note that submissions are due by Nov 24, 5:00 PM.

Respectfully,

Ian Gravagne
Assoc. Prof. of Electrical and Computer Engineering
ELG Program Coordinator
