Toner solicitation memo

Aug. 25, 2009

It has recently come to Copy Services and Procurement Services attention that campus departments have been receiving calls from a company falsely representing themselves as an approved Baylor University toner cartridge supplier. In an attempt to ease your suspicions, these solicitors may offer specific and detailed information regarding your existing copier or printer. These callers are attempting to solicit campus departments for copier or printer toner supplies by suggesting that a substantial savings may be realized by placing orders over the phone. These phone calls are not authorized by Baylor University.

Under our Copy Services agreement with IKON, departments do not pay for copier supplies including staples and toner. For printer supplies, including paper and toner, the approved vendor is OfficeMax Enterprise Solutions. If you have questions concerning your copier or printer supplies, you may contact the HELP desk at extension 4357.

If you feel that you have received a phone call of this nature, you have purchased toner from a vendor in this manner, or you have any questions regarding this matter, please do not hesitate to contacting Angie McGregor for copier supply purchases at extension 4882 or by email at Angie_McGregor@baylor.edu. For printer supply purchases please do not hesitate in contacting Candy Bradley at extension 8865 or by email at Candy_Bradley@baylor.edu.

Please share this information with your department staff.
