Steam Outage Friday to Affect Only Part of CampusOct. 16, 2012
Work to tie in steam lines at the Baylor Energy Complex that lead to the under-construction East Village Residential Community will cause a planned steam outage on Friday, Oct. 19, that will affect only a part of campus. The steam outage - which will occur from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. - will affect only these buildings: Bill Daniel Student Center, Neill Morris Hall, Collins Hall and kitchen, Mary Gibbs Jones Building, the former ROTC building, Kokernot Hall, Brooks College/Flats and kitchen, and Martin Hall.
This outage will only affect the domestic hot water, steam and building heat, which should not be an issue at this time. Crews also will install isolation valves that will minimize the number of buildings affected in the future.
Baylor Facility Services said it will start this work later in the day to allow for students, who will not be leaving campus for Fall Break, to have an opportunity to get a morning shower prior to the outage.
Baylor Facility Services asks that faculty, staff and students notify them at 254-710-1361 or SRC@baylor.edu of any major conflicts with the planned outage.
