Class Roll Instructions

Note: This is an example of the email that Anna Kay Hollon-Harris, Director of Registration, sends to all department chairpersons each semester after BearWeb registration closes, which is the 6th class day for fall/spring, and 3rd day for summer I, II and full. The chairs are asked to forward the note to their faculty.

Dear Faculty,

To assure that students are registered accurately for the spring 2010 term, we need your assistance. Please check your electronic ClassRolls to determine the students that are attending but not appearing on your roll, or students that are appearing on the classroll, but who are not attending. Also, financial aid for students that have class schedule discrepancies can be affected. It is most important that we have correct class roll information.

Following are the procedures to follow which will assist our office in contacting students that have unresolved registration issues.

Beginning today, Thursday, January 20 --- Email our office at Registrar_Support@baylor.edu if the following discrepancies appear on your web ClassRolls:

If a student is attending your class but does not appear on your web ClassRoll, email the following information:

  • student's name
  • student's identification number
  • course prefix, number, section number and course reference number include information that student IS attending. Example:Attending class, Bobby Baylor 889------, PSC 2302-01 CRN 01234
  • If the student's name is appearing on your web ClassRoll, but is not attending your class, email the following information:

  • student's name
  • student's identification number
  • course prefix, number, section number and course reference number
  • include information that student is NOT attending. Example: Not attending class, Bobby Baylor 889------, PSC 2302-01 CRN 01234
  • Discreetly inform those students who have enrollment discrepancies to come to our office as soon as possible. We are located in Robinson Tower, Suite 370, and our office hours are M-F, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. In addition to helping us follow up with those students that are not attending or who are attending sporadically, please make a referral to the Paul L. Foster Success Center by following these steps:

  • Under 'Faculty & Staff' on Baylor's home page, select 'Fostering Student Success (Deficiencies & Referrals)
  • Log on using your Bear ID and password
  • Click on 'Refer a student to the Success Center'
  • Our office will also contact these students via email after we receive information from you. Once these students have been to our office and resolved their registration issues, we will send them back to you with written statements certifying their enrollments.

With all of us working together, hopefully more students will be helped. If you have any questions, please contact our office. Again, please email your changes to Registrar_Support@baylor.edu beginning today, Thursday, January 20.

    Kind Regards,

    Anna Kay Hollon-Harris
