Attendance at Faculty Meetings and Commencement

BU-PP 710 - Faculty Meetings states, "Faculty members are expected to attend meetings called by the President, Provost, deans of their schools and departmental chairs. The full University faculty usually will be called together for a general meeting no more than once each semester. Faculties of the various schools and colleges will be subject to call by the deans of their schools and the chairs of their departments on a regular basis."

Additionally, faculty members are expected to participate in the commencement ceremony at the end of each semester in which they teach. Participation may involve acting as a marshal or usher or simply attending the ceremony in academic regalia as a representative of the Baylor University faculty. Check the faculty page on the Commencement Website for information about faculty parking, greeting graduates, renting regalia, and borrowing regalia from the University at no cost.
