Julie King has been a practicing attorney for over 2 decades with a concentration in environmental law and litigation. She began her legal career working for a prominent Southeast law firm, Moore & Van Allen, PLLC, in 1995. In 2002, she began working in environmental compliance for Environmental Regulatory Consultants, advising a major aerospace corporation in regulatory compliance matters.
In 2007, Ms. King developed a course in environmental law and began teaching ENV 4307 as a new course for the Department of Environmental Science in the Spring of 2008. Ms. King has also mentored students in Honors research and teaches a research-based course, Advanced Topics in Environmental Law. She is also developing a course in Environmental Policy, PSC/ENV 3300 for Spring 2016. Ms. King shares her passion for environmental law and policy with students and received a Circle of Achievement teaching award in 2010.
Ms. King enjoys mentoring students at all stages of their academic careers and advising students who have designated a Pre-Law concentration of study. From 2011-2013, Ms. King served as Baylor’s Pre-Law Coordinator advising hundreds of Baylor Pre-Law students. She continues to serve as a Pre-Law Advisor and mentors students as they explore professional opportunities and prepare for law school and related graduate programs.
