Hope Johnston, Assistant Professor of Medieval Literature, received her Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge in 2009. Her research focuses on the literature of Britain, c.1100-1550, with a particular interest in the history of the book, vernacular translation, politics and women's writing.

Her edition of Christine de Pizan's Boke of the Cyte of Ladyes, trans. Brian Anslay (1521), in parallel with the Middle French text of Le Livre de la cité des dames found in London British Library Royal MS 19.A.XIX, is under contract with Medieval & Renaissance Texts & Studies, Arizona State University Press, 2012.
