Poverty Summit

The 2010 Poverty Summit is a national conference, co-sponsored by The Campus Kitchens Project, on October 8-10, 2010 at Baylor University. The conference is entitled, "Hungry for Justice: Social, Economic, Environmental." Confirmed speakers include Robert Egger, Founder and President of D.C. Central Kitchen, and Shannon Sedgwick Davis, a prominent anti-human trafficking advocate involved in global human rights.

The conference aims to stimulate academic thought and raise awareness about poverty; engage students about the issues of social, economic, and environmental justice; and encourage action. The Summit will have a strong focus on issues stemming from poverty such as hunger and human trafficking.

The conference will be held on the campus of Baylor University at the Bill Daniel Student Center, which is located at the corner of South 5th Street and MP Daniel Esplanade (building 25 on the campus map).
