Steve Bradley, Assistant Professor of Management & Entrepreneurship

Hi! I've been at Baylor since 2007 teaching in the areas of strategy and entrepreneurship. My research has focused on the notion of resources and resourcefulness in new firms. Can less resources actually be better? Surprisingly, my research suggests yes. There appear to be tradeoffs between entrepreneurial behaviors and the availability of financial capital. I also discovered this practically in several start-up ventures I was involved with prior to returning to academia.

Some of the most resourceful people in the world are those who live in poverty. I teach a course in Social Entrepreneurship & Economic Development where we examine how different institutions help or hinder economic growth and the plight of the poor. I love entrepreneurship because it offers ground up solutions to some of the most perplexing problems in developing countries and fulfills a missional role in meeting physical needs. I look forward to meeting with you in our ELG where we will discuss some of the challenges faced and several start-up businesses that are creatively using in-country resources available to overcome these obstacles.

Hopefully, you will meet my lovely wife Christy and four kids Hudson, Caroline, Preston, and Catherine, at some point. When not on campus, we are usually found at a church community event or cheering at a kids baseball or basketball game. We have also become big fans of Baylor men's basketball and baseball even though I went to UT and my wife went to A&M! Go figure....
