Randy Jacobs
Randy Jacobs, Lecturer is Sociology
Hi, my name is Randy Jacobs, and I have been at Baylor since 2002. I am a full-time lecturer and academic advisor in the Sociology department. I teach Criminology, Juvenile Delinquency and Sociology of Sport.
I am originally from York, Pennsylvania. Prior to coming to Texas, I served in the United States Coast Guard (USCG) for 6 years and the United States Air Force for 14 years. My duties in the USCG included search and rescue, and I was also trained as a dental lab technician. If anyone needs a crown, partial, or dentures just let me know! In the AF, I was a test operations officer for our intercontinental ballistic missile force.
I really enjoy being at Baylor and working with all of the outstanding students. Not being on call 24 hours a day has been a nice change.
I have been married for 24 years to my wife Robyn and I have two sons, Ryan and Reid. I love to workout, run, and play the drums. On weekends you can usually find my wife and me at a Baylor sporting event or hanging out with our two new "four legged" children Riley and Rambo. Yes, we are stuck on "R" names.
I look forward to meeting all of you soon!
