WACO, Texas (Oct. 18, 2013) - At its annual Homecoming meeting today, the Baylor University Board of Regents approved construction of the new $99 million Paul L. Foster Campus for Business and Innovation that will house the University's nationally ranked Hankamer School of Business. The board also approved phase two of Baylor's on-campus track and field stadium, refurbishment plans of North Russell Hall and two new doctoral degree programs in higher education and mechanical engineering.

Baylor University and KCEN-TV Ch. 6 will broadcast the 104th anniversary Baylor Homecoming Parade, one of the oldest and largest collegiate homecoming parades in the nation, with live coverage from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, from Fifth Street on the Baylor campus. East Village buildings honor alumni


The university opened the new 238,715-square-foot East Village Residential Community to its first students this fall. Truett Theological Seminary will open an extension campus in Austin in January 2014. Truett held an open house and information session Sept. 17 in Austin.

Two awarded Rotary Global Grant Scholarships


Recent Baylor University graduate Stephanie Allen of Lake Jackson, Texas, and current graduate student Austin Cook-Lindsay of San Angelo, Texas, have been named 2013-2014 Rotary Foundation Global Grant Scholars, a new program that provides $30,000 scholarships to support students'
graduate-level academic studies in areas that relate to Rotary's areas of focus around the world.

Walmart Foundation grant establishes interdisciplinary research collaboration between Baylor's Texas Hunger Initiative and Hankamer School of Business


As students across the nation headed back to school, more than a third of the 3 million Texas school children who qualify for federal free and reduced-price lunches at school began each day without a school breakfast. During the summer break, even fewer had access to federal Summer Meals Programs.
