Baylor University

"Past is prologue," historians say, but excellence in any endeavor, particularly excellence in providing the highest quality legal education, requires constant nurturing. Baylor Law School has a remarkable profile and a history of proven accomplishment. Your gift commitment to our school allows us to be fully responsive to student and faculty needs. Financial resources provide an environment that makes possible the sort of teaching, scholarship and service that makes Baylor Law School so distinctive.

Funding Priorities:

  • Chair or professorship—A chair or professorship provides for the naming of a faculty position in honor of or in memory of a loved one. Requires funding from $1,000,000 to attract and support distinguished faculty.

  • Scholarship support—Baylor Law School’s ability to attract talented students turns in large measure on the availability of scholarship funding. A gift to the Endowed Scholarship Fund will help underwrite tuition costs for generations of worthy students. Funding levels are available from $25,000 to $1,000,000. An Endowed Scholarship can be established with an initial gift of $5,000 and can bear the donor's name or the name of an honoree.

  • General Scholarship Fund—Gifts of any amount will be used to support the financial needs of students on an annual basis.

  • Sponsorship of interscholastic advocacy competition program—Baylor Law School is well-known for superb trial advocacy training and for the perennial success of our interscholastic advocacy teams. Such a sponsorship entails an annual gift equivalent to the current tuition for an academic year, currently approximately $30,000.

  • Establishment of an award—Awards may be established on an endowed or annual basis acknowledging various aspects of academic, interscholastic competition or Law Review achievement by students. A wide range of funding levels are available.

  • Faculty Fund—Gifts of any amount will be used to support the teaching and professional travel endeavors of the faculty.

  • Walk of Honor—Gifts are marked by personalized pavers in the Haddock Entry Courtyard of the Sheila and Walter Umphrey Law Center honoring friends, family, professors, etc. Four different sizes of pavers are available at funding levels from $500, $1,000, $2,500 and $5,000. Gifts of $10,000 or more are acknowledged on the Wall of Honor in the entry foyer of the law center.

Please know that however you choose to designate your gift, at whatever level, the gift will be deeply appreciated and yield a return on investment that is beyond calculation.
